Meaningful Strategies to Address DCFS/ POS Worker Safety
Publisher: ICOY Staff
In the wake of two murders of child welfare workers while on the job, keeping frontline staff and families safe is our top priority. We have been working in coalition with National Association of Social Workers – IL Chapter, ACLU of Illinois, Shriver Center on Poverty Law, and the ChildLaw Policy Institute at Loyola University Chicago School of Law to identify and advance proposals that will prevent harm and mitigate risk for all involved. Below you can find our joint written testimony for the Senate Health Committee Subject Matter Hearing held on February 1, 2022 highlighting Meaningful Strategies to Address DCFS/POS Worker Safety, which includes both legislative and enhanced training recommendations for SB3070.
