While volunteers and donated goods can be extremely helpful in getting a program and organization off the ground, eventually most nonprofit organizations are going to have to fundraise to keep the organization and its programs going. This session will explore the kinds of ways most nonprofits raise vital restrict and unrestricted funds and the challenges and opportunities associated with each kind of revenue stream.

About the trainer: 

As a former Board of Director at Chicago Women in Philanthropy, the Eleanor Foundation, Las Caras Lindas, and Ixchel and as the current Board Treasurer at Action Now Institute and recently elected Board Member of Calumet Park School District 132, Consuella brings practical knowledge and personal experience to her work with nonprofit boards. In addition to educating board members about their roles and responsibilities, particularly in the areas of fundraising and financial oversight, Consuella enjoys working with boards to help them refocus and think more strategically about their roles and annual goals. She has also worked with boards to help them reimagine creative ways to cultivate new board members of color.
