Trauma Talks: LGBTQIA2S+ Identity and Trauma

June 24 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

This training aims to provide a foundational understanding of LGBTQIA2S+ youth and trauma. By delving into historical disenfranchisement, defining identities under the umbrella of “Queer,” exploring the differences between gender and sexuality, and addressing the unique risks and stigmas faced by this community, participants will gain insight into the relationship between trauma and identity experienced by LGBTQ+ individuals, and communally. Finally, participants will learn about the practices of intracommunal and intergenerational care, protection, and resilience, to examine their own role as providers and allies.

**Please note this training has been chosen as a learning and discussion opportunity in relation to Pride Month. Please note these trainings may include sensitive material and self-disclosure from participants. Facilitators will include content warnings for prepared materials and encourage self-care while interacting with these materials. For any additional needs or resources please reach out to our team at trauma_initatives@icoyouth.org
