During this session, we will explore how human trafficking turns into a long history of complex trauma. We will also discuss the trauma bonds that can be formed when an individual develops positive feelings with their trafficker. We will also explore the red flags of trafficking, the stages of trauma bonding, and the most vulnerable victims.

About the Facilitator: Heshima has dedicated over 18 years to the social service and mental health field. Her professional experience has included parent education, family assessments, and individual and group therapy. In addition, Heshima coordinates workshops and trainings, faculty conferences, while supporting individuals and organizations with gaining an understanding about the many aspects of trauma-informed care.
